Scouting Report: Strengths
- Eager to come downhill as a tackler and plays with a physical edge, and he’s effective as a blitzer.
- Good speed in pursuit with the chase skills to track down the ballcarrier.
- Has a stocky build and sets a physical tone in the middle of the field. Fills hard against the run, showing speed and taking good paths to the ball.
- Ryan tracks the ball well and does a nice job of getting his head around in plenty of time to avoid flags.
- Shows good instincts when facing the action in zone coverage, and Ryan has solid ball skills.
- With his length, athleticism, and natural ball skills, he will be highly valued by press cover teams and could earn a top 100 pick.
- Willing in run support, coming downhill quickly when he has a chance to make a play.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Physicality comes and goes when facing the run. Ryan doesn’t show much in the way of take-on skills once Ryan meets a blocker
- Plays out of control too often, laying a lot of big hits but also missing a lot of tackles along the way. He also needs to do a better job reading routes when sitting back as a single-high safety.
- Despite his size, he’s not an overly physical tackler. Ryan might have to add some weight at the next level in order to become more physical.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
