Draft Profile: Bio
Will Nolan was a two-time all-state lineman at John Hersey High School in Arlington Heights, Illinois, recording 74 pancake blocks and no sacks allowed in his final season. Rated four stars and ranked seventh in Illinois by 247Sports, he also finished fourth in the state in the shot put in 2023 and had offers from Iowa State, Indiana, Duke and Illinois.

Nolan did not play in a game in 2024 or 2025. He had unspecified medical issues in the spring of 2026, and Kirk Ferentz said at Big Ten media days that he was a month or two behind another injured lineman in his recovery. That teammate, Drew Campbell, was expected back around September.

Iowa's roster credits Nolan with two games this season, but there is no record of a start or of significant snaps. As a redshirt sophomore, he still has three seasons to play.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Allowed no sacks in his senior high school season
  • Two-time all-state lineman who also placed fourth in the state shot put
  • Unusually fast for a lineman, testing among the quicker players overall
  • Former four-star recruit with offers from Indiana and Illinois
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Has not played a meaningful snap in three college seasons
  • Medical issues in the spring of 2026 set him back
  • Three years of eligibility left, so he is unlikely to declare
  • Teams have no meaningful college film of him to evaluate
  • Unclear whether he projects at guard or tackle
Scouting Report: Summary
Nolan was a highly regarded recruit with good athleticism and an impressive prep resume. He kept a clean sack record as a senior and has the frame Iowa looks for on the line.

However, he has not played a meaningful snap in three seasons and had medical issues this spring. There is no college film to judge, and three more seasons of eligibility remain.

Overall, Nolan is a developmental lineman who is not ready for the draft. He projects as a priority free agent only in theory, and Iowa is expected to keep developing him.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
