Draft Profile: Bio
Ethan Davis caught 61 passes for 755 yards and eight touchdowns as a junior at Collins Hill High School in Georgia and helped win the 2021 Class 7A state title. A torn labrum cost him his senior season. On the basketball court he was a two-time all-state player who scored a school-record 43 points in one game, and he had 37 football offers.Davis broke his collarbone early in his Tennessee career and redshirted in 2023. He made the SEC All-Freshman team in 2024 with 13 catches and two touchdowns. In 2025 he caught 21 passes for 257 yards and two scores, including seven catches for 85 yards against Vanderbilt, but a shoulder nerve injury against Georgia cost him four games.
Davis held the top tight end job in 2026 and caught two passes for 26 yards, including a 25-yard touchdown, before he tore his ACL in the 45-24 win over Georgia Tech in the second week, ending his season.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Caught seven passes for 85 yards against Vanderbilt in 2025
- Runs well for a tight end and can threaten the seam
- Former all-state basketball player with soft hands and body control
- Earned a spot on the SEC All-Freshman team in 2024
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Tore his ACL against Georgia Tech and is out for the season
- A shoulder nerve problem sidelined him for four 2025 games
- Also broke his collarbone and tore a labrum earlier in his career
- Penalized four times as a blocker in 2025
- Just 36 receptions combined across his first three college seasons
Scouting Report: Summary
Davis is an athletic, pass-catching tight end with good speed and the body control of a former basketball star. He showed his upside with seven catches against Vanderbilt in 2025 and a touchdown in the first weeks of 2026.However, he has been hurt in almost every season, and his torn ACL against Georgia Tech ended his 2026 season after two games. He has also been inconsistent as a blocker, with four penalties in 2025.
Overall, Davis has the tools of a receiving tight end but a long medical file. He projects as a priority free agent and is likely to return to Tennessee if eligible.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
