Draft Profile: Bio
Quintavius Johnson played quarterback early in his career at Mays High School in Atlanta before moving to defense full time as a junior, and he developed quickly enough to become a consensus four-star prospect in the 2024 class. Basketball and baseball filled the rest of his calendar, and he enrolled early at Georgia in January 2024.

Johnson appeared in 12 games as a freshman, mostly on special teams, before taking over as a starter in 2025. He started all 14 games at outside linebacker, finishing with 34 tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble and five passes defended, with a career-high six tackles against Georgia Tech and two pass breakups in the Sugar Bowl against Ole Miss.

Named to Athlon's third-team preseason All-SEC squad, Johnson has worked at the JACK position in 2026 for Georgia, including four tackles in the 41-13 win over Oklahoma.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Run defense is the strength: sets a firm edge and keeps contain on the perimeter
  • Sure tackler this fall, without a miss through five games
  • Quarterback background helps him diagnose quickly and handle assignments in space
  • Started all 14 games for Georgia in 2025, including the Sugar Bowl against Ole Miss
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Pass rush lags well behind his run defense, with 11 pressures across 14 games in 2025
  • Still searching for a counter, with no sacks and three pressures in 2026
  • Coverage is a weakness when he drops, as Alabama showed in 2025
  • Tackling was loose in 2025, with six misses, three of them at Georgia Tech
  • Snap counts have dipped in 2026, topping out at 40 in a game
Scouting Report: Summary
Johnson has the build, background and coaching of an NFL edge defender, and Kirby Smart's staff trusted him enough to start all 14 games as a sophomore. He is at his best setting the edge against the run, where he plays with good leverage and discipline, and his quarterback background shows in how quickly he diagnoses plays and handles assignments in space. His tackling has tightened up too, without a miss through five games.

However, the production as a pass rusher simply has not arrived. He has two sacks in 19 career starts and just three pressures this season, and his snap counts have dropped as Georgia's rotation has deepened. Alabama exposed him in coverage last season, and he has struggled to stay with backs and tight ends when he drops. NFL teams draft edge players to affect the quarterback, and right now that part of his game is a projection.

Overall, Johnson is a disciplined, well-coached edge-setter with untapped pass-rush upside, and another season in Athens would likely do more for his stock than an early jump. Should he enter the draft, he projects as a seventh-round outside linebacker who could hold down the run-down job in a 3-4 front.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
