Draft Profile: Bio
Rod Moore from Northmont High School was rated a 3-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports. Following high school, Moore opted to join Michigan after being heavily recruited.

In 2021 as a freshman Moore saw action in 11 games and played a total of 358 snaps at safety for the Wolverines. He recorded 24 tackles, 7 assists, while adding 9 stops. In coverage Moore notched up one pass breakup, no interceptions, and an unimpressive QB rating when targetted of 147.5.

As a sophomore in 2022 he played in 13 games and logged 655 snaps for the Wolverines. He made 48 tackles, 14 assists, and had 8 stops. In coverage he totaled 3 pass breakups, 3 interceptions, and QB rating when targetted of 63.7.

In 2023 as a junior Moore played in 10 games and contributed on 371 snaps. He chalked up 22 tackles, 9 assists, and added 7 stops. In the secondary Moore forced 2 pass breakups, 2 interceptions, and gave up an outstanding QB rating when targetted of 49.0.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Moore tracks the ball well and does a nice job of getting his head around in plenty of time to avoid flags.
  • Instinctive, adept at reading routes and anticipating throws, and strong in zone coverage.
  • Has good awareness and quick feet. Fluid backpedal, aggressive attacking the receiver from the snap, and flashes spectacular ball skills.
  • Not a major liability in man coverage. Good enough foot speed and length to stay with slot receivers in four-wide sets on short patterns.
  • Does a good job getting his head around in time when playing with his back to the line of scrimmage. Has the ability to cover quickness underneath.
  • Has a nice blend of length, speed, and quickness. He’s at his best mirroring routes underneath, showing fluid movement skills and the ability to change directions on a dime.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • At this point, Moore can get outmuscled. Moore also might be susceptible to catch and- run plays. He’ll give effort in run support, but he’s going to struggle to get off blocks against physical outside receivers.
  • NFL teams are going to test him deep early on, and he’ll also be prone to flags since he’s grabby downfield.
  • Too often gives too much of a cushion while playing off his man, and it becomes especially problematic since he’s not a particularly willing tackler.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
