Draft Profile: Bio
Jordan Hancock from North Gwinnett High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports. Following high school, Hancock opted to join Ohio State after being heavily recruited.

In 2021 as a freshman Hancock saw action in just 3 games and played a total of 31 snaps at cornerback for the Buckeyes. He recorded only one tackle, one assist, while adding no stops. In coverage Hancock notched up no pass breakups, no interceptions, and QB rating when targetted of 75.7.

As a sophomore in 2022 he played in 4 games and logged 103 snaps for the Buckeyes. He made only 4 tackles, one assist, and had one stop. In coverage he totaled no pass breakups, no interceptions, and QB rating when targetted of 101.5.

In 2023 as a junior Hancock played in 12 games and contributed on 541 snaps. He chalked up 34 tackles, 5 assists, and added 10 stops. In the secondary Hancock forced 2 pass breakups, 2 interceptions, and gave up QB rating when targetted of 55.7.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Anticipation skills and explosive, downhill burst could make him a star in zone-based scheme.
  • Has good cover skills, athleticism and big -play ability to be a lead cornerback if Hancock matures.
  • Stays low in his backpedal and shows the click-and-close ability to break up plays in front of him. Hancock can move well laterally and shows excellent instincts when looking into the backfield in zone coverage.
  • Tracks and plays the ball well, and has decent hands for the interception. Provides very tight man coverage with playmaking ability in zone.
  • Has a nice, low backpedal and shows the click-and-close ability to play off his man. He also has the good long speed to turn and run as a press coverage guy and the powerful hands to disrupt receivers early in the route
  • Hancock tracks the ball well and does a nice job of getting his head around in plenty of time to avoid flags.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • NFL quarterbacks may take advantage of his aggressiveness in man and zone to eye up short routes and go over the top
  • Is undersized and underpowered when lining up in press coverage. Hancock simply lacks power in his punch.
  • Better in press coverage than in off coverage, when Hancock can look shaky and unsure when transitioning out of his backpedal. He’ll give up throws underneath.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
