Draft Profile: Bio
Sawyer Robertson from Coronado High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports. After high school, Robertson opted to join Mississippi State.

In 2022 as a freshman Robertson saw action in just 3 games for the Bulldogs as he threw for just 23 yards on 11 attempts with a completion percent of 54.5 for an average of 2.1 yards per pass, with no TDs, while taking one sack, and just QB rating of 22.2.

After the season Robertson transferred to Baylor where as a sophomore he played in 6 games as he passed for 848 yards on 115 attempts with a completion percent of 55.7 for an average of 7.4 yards per pass, with just 2 TDs, while also taking 9 sacks, and putting up QB rating of 70.5. He made 26 runs for a total of 121 yards at an average of 4.7 per rush.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Sees the field very well when the play breaks down and occasionally changes plays at the line.
  • Good (not elite) arm strength and can easily make all the NFL throws with effortless deep passes.
  • Flashes good accuracy to all levels of the field and has the arm strength to make every requisite NFL throw.
  • Robertson has enough arm strength to throw the deep out as well.
  • His height is an asset scanning the field, and Robertson is a better mover than a typical tall quarterback.
  • Athletic quarterback who is a threat to leave the pocket and gain positive yardage at any time. Possesses very good vision balance, elusiveness and deceptive speed and power as a runner.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Needs to improve his touch at all levels and know when to gun it and when to take something off his throws. Accuracy is solid, but far from great with streaky ball placement downfield as Robertson tries to thread the needle too much.
  • Lanky, almost skinny build more suited to playing wide receiver than quarterback in the NFL.
  • His arm is good but not great, and he loses accuracy and velocity when he is moved off his spot.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
