Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Work in progress as a pass rusher, with upfield burst and flexibility to dip and scrape.
  • Looks the part. Good height and a thick, muscular build. Long arms. Good overall athleticism and straight-line speed.
  • Dix can move laterally and chase in pursuit. A tough, violent tackler with a non-stop motor, Dix also shows good awareness when dropping into coverage.
  • He’s a capable blitzer with the ability to close quickly. He’s also very good in coverage, rangy with good awareness in zone coverage, and fluid and fast enough to run with most tight ends.
  • Is a gifted athlete with an impressive frame and a lot of raw ability. Dix needs to get stronger to do more damage at the point of attack and is very unpolished with the mental aspect of the position. Streaky instincts and anticipation.
  • Has enough hustle and athleticism to make plays in the flat against running backs. Lacks height but has the vertical and timing to knock away passes when approaching the quarterback.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Hits up high and misses more tackles than Dix should.
  • Inconsistent hustle. Only adequate change-of-direction ability. Also loses his balance too often in the open field. Lacks size to bull rush stronger tackles.
  • While he moves well laterally, he doesn’t always get there in pursuit.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
