Draft Profile: Bio
Arvell Reese from Glenville High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports. After high school, Reese joined Ohio State after being heavily recruited. In 2024 as a freshman Reese saw action in just 3 games and played a total of 81 snaps at linebacker for the Buckeyes. He recorded only 6 tackles, 3 assists, while adding 7 stops.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Reese disrupts plays in the backfield regularly. He also has the agility and pure speed to cover sideline to sideline, moving like a safety and then finishing as a violent and consistent tackler.
- Accelerates rapidly and has a great feel for angles. He isn’t huge, but Reese packs a pop.
- A dynamic edge rusher, Carraway has NFL-caliber quickness and speed. He gets off the snap quickly and has the flexibility to bend the edge and the pure speed to close on the quarterback.
- He’s excellent changing direction, an agile mover who can win by countering inside and exploding with impressive burst when closing.
- He possesses an intriguing blend of size and movement skills. Reese has good length, wide shoulders, and long arms, and he has room to add weight.
- Good closing speed with long arms to drag down quarterbacks and running backs.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- While Reese moves well laterally, he doesn’t always get there in pursuit.
- Possesses average instincts. More likely to make plays with quick reactions than by diagnosing.
- As a run defender, he’s too much of a grab-and-drag tackler, lacking violence and too frequently allowing running backs to escape.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
