Draft Profile: Bio
Andrew Sprague grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, where he attended Rockhurst High School and developed into one of the Midwest's top offensive line recruits. A two-way player who also started on the defensive line, Sprague helped Rockhurst reach the Class 6 state semifinals with an 11-2 record as a senior. He also lettered in basketball. Rated a consensus four-star prospect and ranked inside the top 120 nationally, he committed to Michigan over Notre Dame and several other Power Four programs.Sprague redshirted in 2024, appearing in four games with limited snaps before making his first career start at right tackle in the ReliaQuest Bowl against Alabama. He earned the starting right tackle job entering 2025 and held it for all 12 games as a redshirt freshman, logging over 700 offensive snaps. He earned honorable mention All-Big Ten recognition from both coaches and media and shared Offensive Player of the Week honors after Michigan's win at Nebraska.
Following the firing of head coach Sherrone Moore and the hire of Kyle Whittingham, Sprague briefly entered the transfer portal in early January 2026 before withdrawing days later and committing to return to Michigan. He will play his 2026 season under Whittingham and new offensive line coach Jim Harding, who spent 12 years coaching the line at Utah.
