Draft Profile: Bio
Armoni Goodwin from Hewitt-Trussville High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports. Following high school, Goodwin joined LSU.

In 2021 as a freshman Goodwin saw action in 6 games for the Tigers as he ran for only 65 yards on 16 attempts for 4.1 yards per carry, with no TDs, with no fumbles. As a receiver he made only 2 receptions for 5 yards.

As a sophomore in 2022 he played 7 games. and rushed for 267 yards on 45 carries for an impressive 5.9 ypc, with 5 TDs, with no fumbles. In the passing game he pulled in only 4 receptions for 19 yards.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • He’s capable as a receiver, a weapon on swing passes and in the screen game.
  • Goodwin accelerates 0-to-60 and hits top speed fast enough to outrun angles. He’s also flexible and agile, able to keep the pedal to the floor as Goodwin turns and weaves.
  • He has very good vision and a knack for picking out cut-back lanes and then breaking offchunks of yardage.
  • Has a smaller, compact build with adequate thickness throughout his frame. Confident and ambitious player who wants the ball. Has shifty footwork with the natural burst and lateral quickness to make defenders miss and turn upfield in a hurry - tough to tackle in space.
  • He brings a nice blend of power and passing game skills. He has a compact build and a naturally low center of gravity, and he runs with excellent balance through traffic, allowing him to squeeze through for yardage.
  • Goodwin shows suddenness off the line of scrimmage and accelerates quickly, and his top-end speed is among the best in this draft.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Short and lacks the ideal powerful frame to consistently run between the tackles.
  • He’ll be relegated to outside runs and is little more than a potential cut blocker in blitz pickup
  • Does not always read blocks behind pulling guards. May not be big enough to move piles at the next level and has a tendency to bury his head too soon.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
