Draft Profile: Bio
A four-star ESPN recruit out of Hightower High School near Houston, Douglas signed with Florida over offers from USC, LSU, and Notre Dame. He appeared in eight games as a true freshman in 2022, flashing on a 62-yard touchdown in his debut, but managed just 10 catches. A leg injury cut his sophomore season short after five starts.Douglas transferred to Texas Tech ahead of 2024 and found a home immediately. Paired with Josh Kelly, the two formed one of the better receiver duos in the Big 12, with Douglas posting 60 catches for 877 yards and six touchdowns while starting all 13 games. His senior season followed a similar script as the team's leading receiver: 54 catches for 846 yards and a career-high seven touchdowns, earning second-team All-Big 12 honors.
Douglas finished with 135 receptions for 2,031 yards and 16 touchdowns across 40 career games. He participated in the Senior Bowl and was one of eight Red Raiders invited to the NFL Combine.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Uses every inch of his 79-inch wingspan to snag throws away from coverage
- Eats cushion with long strides and confirmed the build-up speed at the combine

- Drive phase on double moves lacks conviction and tips the second break early
- Needs extra steps to gather and redirect on comebacks, giving DBs time to close
- Does not threaten underneath with the burst to turn short catches into chunk plays
Scouting Report: Summary
Douglas confirmed the build-up speed at the combine that you can see on his longer gains at Texas Tech. A 6-4 receiver who can run like that and track the ball the way he does is going to get every chance to make a roster. When he gets past a corner's cushion, he stacks and separates vertically, high-points fades naturally, and settles well in zone windows. The 57-yard catch at Arizona and the acrobatic grab over the Arkansas defender in the Liberty Bowl show you the upside.The concerns are real but workable. Corners who press him at the line slow his release, and he needs functional strength to hold up against physical coverage at the next level. Too many contested throws that should favor a receiver with his wingspan ended up incomplete, and the focus drops that surfaced as a senior were not there on his junior tape. Those are correctable issues for a player whose athletic tools give him room to develop, but they need to trend the right direction early.
His best fit is as a Z on the perimeter in a scheme that designs vertical shots and red-zone fades for him. The athletic profile and two years of steady production at Texas Tech give him a real shot to stick as a third or fourth receiver who contributes on designed deep balls and in the red zone. If the hands clean up and he learns to use his frame more aggressively at the catch point, there is upside beyond that initial role. The floor is a practice squad receiver who needs time to put the physical tools and the consistency together.
