Draft Profile: Bio
Drayk Bowen from Andrean High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports. After high school, Bowen joined Notre Dame after being heavily recruited.

In 2023 as a freshman Bowen saw action in 5 games and played a total of 74 snaps at linebacker for the Fighting Irish. He recorded just 7 tackles, one assist, while adding 2 stops. As a pass rusher, he added 3 total pressures, which included 2 QB hurries, no QB hits, and one sack on the season.

As a sophomore for the Fighting Irish in 2024 Bowen played in 4 games and took part in 118 snaps for the Fighting Irish. He recorded 12 tackles, 6 assists, while adding 6 stops.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Possesses strong upper body to be explosive and create turnovers as a tackler. Takes aggressive angles to the ball.
  • Closes quickly on relatively immobile quarterbacks. A consistently heavy hitter who flashes explosiveness and the ability to separate the ball.
  • Flashes strength to punch or stiff-arm to get off blocks. Stays with plays downfield, often making tackles even after being hit by multiple linemen.
  • Greet feel in coverage. Often arrives at the receiver at the same time as the ball, giving up few yards after the catch. Possesses straight-line speed to stay with or chase down receivers in man.
  • He’s a sure and violent wrap-up tackler with sideline-to-sideline range. He’s an excellent tackler in space, showing loose hips and the ability to break down and contain runners.
  • Bowen has an excellent feel for working off blockers and knowing how and when to counter as the play goes on.
  • Keeps feet moving after initial contact. Jumps inside as a counter to typical rush, but needs to show a larger variety of moves.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • As good as Bowen is attacking downhill, he can get overaggressive and overrun plays, opening up cutback lanes for counter runs.
  • As a run defender, he’s too much of a grab-and-drag tackler, lacking violence and too frequently allowing running backs to escape.
  • Often engulfed by NFL-caliber tackles due to his lack of height. Must improve consistency in beating cut blocks.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
