Draft Profile: Bio
Dylan Lonergan from Brookwood High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports. After high school, Lonergan opted to join Alabama. In 2023 as a freshman Lonergan saw action in just one game for the Crimson Tide as he threw for only 12 yards on 2 attempts with a completion percent of 100 for an average of 6.0 yards per pass, with no TDs, while taking no sacks, and QB rating of 91.7.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Lonergan thrives when he’s extending plays. He’s a loose athlete who should be able to clean up his mechanics at the next level. He’ll hang in and take big hits.
- He is enough of a threat as a runner to earn respect from back-side defenders at the next level, opening opportunities for running backs.
- He’s enough of a threat as a runner to make the read-option game effective.
- Ball placement is a strength. Lonergan has the natural instincts to make plays when forced to improvise.
- Athletic quarterback who is a threat to leave the pocket and gain positive yardage at any time. Possesses very good vision balance, elusiveness and deceptive speed and power as a runner.
- Good zip and ball placement on the quick slant. Good touch down the seam and on post-corner, flag routes to attack the defense vertically and horizontally.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- His arm strength is decent but less than ideal; Lonergan lacks a little zip, and accuracy becomes an issue when he’s unable or unwilling to set his feet.
- Because he lacks prototypical size, he will likely have issues in the pocket.
- Marginal height, which will prove more of a detriment in an offense that asks him to drop back from center more often.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
