Draft Profile: Bio
Earnest Greene III, an offensive tackle from the University of Georgia, emerged as a standout performer in his redshirt freshman season. The Bellflower, California native was a four-year starter at St. John Bosco High School, where he developed into one of the nation's top offensive line prospects.

Greene's recruitment was notable, with four-star ratings across major scouting services. He participated in the 2022 All-American Bowl and was ranked as high as the #2 interior offensive lineman prospect nationally. His senior year culminated in leading St. John Bosco to the CIF Southern Section Division I semifinals.

After redshirting in 2022, Greene seized the starting left tackle role for Georgia in 2023. He started all 14 games, earning First Team Freshman All-American honors from The Athletic and a spot on the SEC All-Freshman Team. Greene was integral to an offensive line that led the SEC and ranked seventh nationally in sacks allowed (0.93 per game), contributing to Georgia's top-five national rankings in total offense, passing efficiency, and scoring.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Prototypical size for an offensive tackle, with the length to effectively engage defenders in both run and pass blocking
  • Displays above-average lateral agility, facilitating success in zone blocking schemes and second-level engagements
  • Demonstrates good initial punch and hand placement, often neutralizing defenders at the point of attack
  • Positional versatility, with experience at both tackle and guard, enhancing his value to NFL offensive line units
  • Exhibits a physical play style in the run game, consistently working to finish blocks through the whistle
  • Shows good awareness in pass protection, adeptly handling stunts and twists
  • Strong lower body allows for effective anchoring against power rushers
  • Comes from a Georgia program with a track record of developing NFL-caliber offensive linemen
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Tends to play with high pad level, bending at the waist rather than the knees, which can compromise leverage
  • Needs improvement in pass set depth, potentially exposing him to speed rushers at the NFL level
  • Hand timing and placement can be inconsistent, occasionally allowing defenders to get into his chest
  • Sometimes overextends when reaching for defenders, leading to balance issues in both run and pass blocking
  • Kick-slide technique requires refinement to better handle elite edge rushers in the NFL
Scouting Report: Summary
Greene projects as a high-ceiling, developmental tackle with day-two draft value. His SEC pedigree and immediate impact at Georgia suggest he can contribute early in a zone-heavy scheme. Expect him to start his NFL career at right tackle with potential to slide to the left side as he refines his technique.

His anchor strength and lateral agility translate well to the next level, but he'll need to improve his pad level and pass set depth to handle NFL edge rushers. Greene's floor is that of a solid backup tackle, while his ceiling could be an above-average starter by year three.

The best fit would be with a team running a zone-blocking system that can afford him time to develop. Given his physical tools and collegiate production, Greene should hear his name called in the second or third round, depending on team needs and how he tests at the Combine.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
