Draft Profile: Bio
Hank Brown from Lipscomb Academy High School was rated a 3-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 3-star grade by 247 Sports. After high school, Brown opted to join Auburn. In 2023 as a freshman Brown saw action in just one game for the Tigers as he threw for only 132 yards on 10 attempts with a completion percent of 80 for an average of 13.2 yards per pass, with no TDs, while taking no sacks, and an elite QB rating of 118.8.
In 2024 as a sophomore he played in just 3 games as he passed for only 403 yards on 44 attempts with a completion percent of 61.4 for an average of 9.2 yards per pass, with only 6 TDs, while also taking no sacks, and putting up QB rating of 102.6.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Good (not elite) arm strength and can easily make all the NFL throws with effortless deep passes.
- Prototypical height for the position with the frame to easily add another 15 pounds of muscle mass without a significant loss in quickness.
- Ball placement is a strength. Brown has the natural instincts to make plays when forced to improvise.
- Physically, Brown is a natural athlete who plays with the balance and light feet to float in the pocket.
- Good zip and ball placement on the quick slant. Good touch down the seam and on post-corner, flag routes to attack the defense vertically and horizontally.
- Brown has a quick release and shows good accuracy on shorter throws when on the move to either side.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Lanky, almost skinny build more suited to playing wide receiver than quarterback in the NFL.
- Sails throws to either sideline; receivers make him look good with acrobatic catches. Back-foot throws are not accurate. Sometimes trusts his arm too much, trying to stick passes late in the play or when off-balance.
- His arm strength is decent but less than ideal; Brown lacks a little zip, and accuracy becomes an issue when he’s unable or unwilling to set his feet.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
