Draft Profile: Bio
Jude Bowry came to Boston College from St. Frances Academy in Maryland, a program that had claimed five consecutive state No. 1 rankings by the time he graduated. A three-star recruit rated as the top offensive tackle in the state by Rivals, Bowry saw the field early, appearing in seven games as a true freshman in 2022 with two starts at right tackle. He preserved his redshirt the following year while logging 89 snaps across three appearances, including 71 at left tackle against Florida State when the Eagles needed a fill-in up front.

The 2024 season is where Bowry carved out his role. He started all 12 games at left tackle, allowed just two sacks in pass protection, and helped anchor a line that produced four games of 200-plus rushing yards. That performance earned him a captaincy heading into 2025, though his redshirt junior year was interrupted by multiple injuries that held him to nine starts. When healthy, he remained the starter at left tackle, blocking for an offense that topped 500 total yards twice and consistently moved the football on the ground.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Natural kick-slide explosiveness creates a wide pocket arc that speed rushers struggle to bend around
  • Stays square through his kick-slide and maintains good base width.
  • Combine testing confirmed rare lower-body power for the position.
  • Firm anchor when hands land inside, able to stall power moves.
  • Shows range and fluidity to widen speed rushers off the edge.
  • Good burst on the move for screens, pulls, and second-level climbs.
  • Generates force on down blocks and can displace defenders at the point of attack.
  • Made the 2025 Feldman freaks list - he wrote:"In 2024, Bowry allowed only two sacks in 321 dropback snaps. Bowry’s athleticism has really impressed the staff; he achieved a peak velocity of 1.18 meters per second and a peak power of 2,610 watts while performing multiple sets of five reps on back squats with 435 pounds. "
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Below-average arm length creates tight margins in pass protection.
  • Punch timing is erratic and hand placement often drifts wide.
  • Gets pushed into the pocket by speed-to-power conversions.
  • Passive on angle-drive blocks, settling for position rather than displacing.
  • Inconsistent pad level leaves him upright and vulnerable to counter moves.
  • Durability question after missing multiple games in 2025 due to injury.
Scouting Report: Summary
Bowry's athletic testing numbers tell a clear story about where his value lies at the next level. His vertical and broad jump ranked among the best offensive tackles at the combine, and his movement skills on tape back those numbers up. He fires out of his stance with genuine burst, stays square through his kick-slide, and shows enough range to widen speed rushers off the corner. In a wide zone scheme that asks its tackles to reach, climb, and move laterally, those traits have real utility.

The concerns are just as real. His arms measure under 34 inches, which limits his ability to keep rushers at distance and forces tighter margins in pass protection. When his punch timing is off or hand placement drifts wide, that length deficit compounds quickly. Speed-to-power rushers collapse his frame into the pocket, and his sustain on run blocks fades when he cannot re-fit after initial contact. The inconsistency in his 2025 tape, where pass protection dipped from the year before, suggests the technique is not reliable enough over a full season.

The most realistic path for Bowry is as a developmental swing tackle who earns snaps in a movement-heavy scheme. If the tackle experiment stalls, a move inside to guard could unlock his best football. His foot speed would make him a natural puller in gap and power concepts, and the shorter arms become far less of a liability working in tighter quarters against interior defenders. He needs time behind a veteran starter and a staff willing to invest in his hand technique, but the physical tools give him a window to compete for a starting job regardless of where he lines up.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
