Draft Profile: Bio
Jyaire Hill arrived at Michigan as a four-star recruit from Kankakee, Illinois, where he starred on both sides of the ball, rushing for 468 yards and eight touchdowns as a junior while recording seven interceptions and leading his team to the Illinois 5A state championship game.Hill started opposite All-American Will Johnson for much of his 2024 sophomore season, finishing with 35 tackles, nine pass breakups, and an interception across 12 games, though coaches benched him late in the year over undisclosed internal issues.
Restored to a full-time role in 2025, Hill appeared in all 13 games as Michigan's top cornerback and totaled 36 tackles, five pass breakups, an interception, a sack, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery, earning All-Big Ten honorable mention. Against Ohio State in November, he undercut a back-shoulder throw intended for Jeremiah Smith for an interception that set up a field goal. Michigan closed the year with a 41-27 Citrus Bowl loss to Texas, and Hill announced in January that he would return to Ann Arbor for his senior season in 2026.

Scouting Report: Summary
Hill is a long, fast outside corner whose holds up in man and zone alike give him scheme flexibility, and the ball skills showed up in marquee spots with interceptions against USC and Texas. He carries vertical routes, matches releases off the line, and uses 74-inch length to contest at the catch point. The speed-and-length combination is the kind of projectable trait base that keeps a corner on the Day 2 radar, and he flashed it against the best competition on Michigan's schedule.The tackling is the loud flaw. He missed eleven, his finish is poor, and the run-support lapses show up when ball carriers reach his edge, contributing to three scores allowed. His coverage is good rather than elite for the traits, and he can lose track of receivers when his eyes drift in zone. He is a tools-and-flashes corner whose technique and finishing have to catch up to the athleticism.
The bet is on the speed, the length, and the flashes, a developmental outside corner with starter upside if the tackling and the coverage detail tighten. The athletic ceiling is real, and the production against top competition is encouraging. He grades on Day 2 to early Day 3 as a trait-rich cover corner returning for a season that could push the grade higher if the finishing comes around.
