Draft Profile: Bio
Kip Lewis won state titles as a sophomore and junior at Carthage High School in Texas and made 108 tackles, 20 tackles for loss and six sacks as a senior to earn district MVP. A four-star recruit, he chose Oklahoma over Notre Dame, Texas and Texas A&M.

Lewis redshirted in 2022 and made 66 tackles in 2023, earning honorable mention All-Big 12. He returned two interceptions for touchdowns in 2024 and was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week, then started all 13 games in 2025 and led the Sooners with 76 tackles and 10.5 tackles for loss.

Lewis came back for his final season after talking with his father and Danny Stutsman. He hurt his right knee at Michigan on 12 September and missed time before returning at Georgia. He had a sack and six pressures against Kentucky and intercepted a pass against South Carolina on 31 October.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Effective blitzer, with six pressures and a sack against Kentucky
  • Intercepted a pass in the game against South Carolina
  • Experienced four-year contributor with two pick-sixes in 2024
  • Good speed for an off-ball linebacker in pursuit
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Missed 16 tackles in seven games, including six against South Carolina
  • Right knee injury at Michigan cost him time in September
  • Very light frame for the position at the point of attack
  • Allows a high completion rate in coverage, 18 of 20 this season
  • Run fits get washed out by bigger blockers
Scouting Report: Summary
Lewis is an experienced, athletic linebacker who has been part of Oklahoma's defense for four seasons. He does his best work as a blitzer, as his six pressures against Kentucky showed, and he finds the ball, with an interception against South Carolina and two pick-sixes in 2024.

However, his tackling has fallen apart this season, with 16 misses in seven games, six of them against South Carolina. His frame is light, quarterbacks have completed nearly everything thrown his way, and a knee injury cost him time in September.

Overall, Lewis has the speed and experience that teams like on special teams. He projects as a priority free agent who must fix his tackling to stick.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
