Draft Profile: Bio
Marquis Gallegos spent three years at Chaminade before transferring to Sierra Canyon for his final prep season. He was named the 2022 CIF Southern Section Division II defensive MVP and first-team all-state, and USC landed the four-star recruit over finalists Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon and Notre Dame.Gallegos played once as a freshman and redshirted. In 2025 he appeared in all 13 games, largely on special teams, and his best day came against Missouri State with three tackles, two of them for loss. Defensively that season he played 46 snaps across four games, making four tackles plus two assists and allowing one catch on three targets, for minus-3 yards.
No 2026 statistics or role details have been found for Gallegos, a redshirt sophomore, so his defensive work still rests on those 46 snaps. He has a lighter build than most safeties.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Named CIF Southern Section Division defensive MVP in 2022
- Tested with good straight-line speed for the safety position
- Made two tackles for loss against Missouri State in 2025
- Appeared in all 13 games last season, largely on special teams
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- No statistics or snaps have surfaced for him this season
- Credited with only 46 defensive snaps, all in 2025
- Lighter than most safeties, with a slender frame
- Still looking for his first start in a USC uniform
- Almost no defensive tape for scouts to study
Scouting Report: Summary
Gallegos is an athletic safety who earned top defensive honors in Southern California's high school ranks. He has good speed and flashed with two tackles for loss against Missouri State in 2025.However, his college defensive work is minimal, and no statistics have turned up for 2026. His frame is light, and there is almost no tape to evaluate.
Overall, Gallegos is a developmental safety with very little game experience. He projects as a priority free agent in theory but should remain at USC.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
