Draft Profile: Bio
Raylen Wilson from Lincoln High School was rated a 5-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 5-star grade by 247 Sports. After high school, Wilson joined Georgia after being heavily recruited. In 2023 as a freshman Wilson saw action in 10 games and played a total of 177 snaps at linebacker for the Bulldogs. He recorded 10 tackles, 2 assists, while adding 8 stops. In coverage Wilson notched up no pass breakups, no interceptions, and an unimpressive QB rating when targetted of 145.1. As a pass rusher, he added 8 total pressures, which included 5 QB hurries, 2 QB hits, and one sack on the season.
As a sophomore for the Bulldogs in 2024 Wilson played in 3 games and took part in 78 snaps for the Bulldogs. He recorded 11 tackles, 3 assists, while adding 10 stops. As a pass rusher, he chalked up 3 total pressures, and 2 QB hurries, no QB hits, and one sack during the year.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Showed initial quickness and good flexibility to dip and bend. Wilson has active hands and suddenness to his movements, demonstrating the ability to counter inside.
- He can be used as a rangy run defender inside, instinctive when it comes to locating the ball with the quickness to get to it before blockers can react at the second level.
- Flashes strength to punch or stiff-arm to get off blocks. Stays with plays downfield, often making tackles even after being hit by multiple linemen.
- Uses his low center of gravity to flash leverage and strong, violent hands to create space and shed to either side. Also spins off blocks to disengage.
- In coverage, Wilson shows excellent awareness and anticipation when dropping back into zone, and he has the fluidity and speed to run with most tight ends over the middle.
- Along with great instincts, he’s an explosive mover. Wilson can disrupt plays in the backfield due to his ability to read and react quickly.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Wilson is on the small side, and his frame is pretty much maxed out. Despite his effort and intensity, he’ll simply get swallowed up at times.
- Plays too high when trying to set the edge. His motor is inconsistent.
- While Wilson has the take-on skills to be a 4-3 Mike, he’s probably better as a Will so he can maximize his range and speed.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
