Draft Profile: Bio
Scooby Williams from Ramsay High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports. After high school, Williams joined Florida after being heavily recruited.

In 2021 as a freshman Williams saw action in just 2 games and played a total of 11 snaps at linebacker for the Gators. He recorded only 2 tackles, one assist, while adding 2 stops.

As a sophomore for the Gators in 2022 Williams played in 7 games and took part in 119 snaps for the Gators. He recorded only 8 tackles, 7 assists, while adding 4 stops.

In 2023 as a junior Williams played in 11 games and contributed on 455 snaps. He recorded 37 tackles, 15 assists while making 26 stops. In coverage Williams chalked up no pass breakups, no interceptions, and an unimpressive QB rating when targetted of 131.0. As a pass rusher, he produced 13 total pressures, which included 10 QB hurries, 2 QB hits, and one sack on the year.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • He’s rangy and instinctive when he’s looking into the backfield as a zone defender.
  • Flashes strength to punch or stiff-arm to get off blocks. Stays with plays downfield, often making tackles even after being hit by multiple linemen.
  • Has the combination of size and athleticism worthy of development.
  • Reads the quarterback to anticipate and is a candidate to play outside.
  • Williams will always try to plow into the largest piles and has a good knack of ending up glued to the ballcarrier.
  • Looks the part. Good height and a thick, muscular build. Long arms. Good overall athleticism and straight-line speed.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • While Williams has the take-on skills to be a 4-3 Mike, he’s probably better as a Will so he can maximize his range and speed.
  • As a pass rusher, he lacks the ideal length to consistently win off the edge, even if he manages to improve his at-times sloppy hand usage.
  • Williams is in a hurry to get upfield but shows poor instincts when locating the ball against the run.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
