Draft Profile: Bio
Thomas Collins from Sweden High School was rated a 3-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 3-star grade by 247 Sports. After high school, Collins joined Oregon State.

In 2023 as a freshman Collins saw action in just 3 games and played a total of 25 snaps for the Beavers. He recorded no tackles, no assists, while adding no stops.

As a sophomore for the Beavers in 2024 Collins played in 4 games and took part in 130 snaps for the Beavers. He recorded only 4 tackles, one assist, while adding 5 stops. As a pass rusher, he chalked up 11 total pressures, and 10 QB hurries, no QB hits, and one sack during the year.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • He’s flexible enough to bend the edge, and he’s at his best when Collins can use his quickness and change-of-direction abilities to counter back inside.
  • Plays with leverage at the point of attack whether inside or outside. Keeps eyes in the backfield when inside; moves linemen to either side with strong hands.
  • Collins has an excellent feel for working off blockers and knowing how and when to counter as the play goes on.
  • Flashes an explosive burst and can surprise better overall athletes with his ability to get upfield. Has a closing burst when given a free lane. Has the frame to consider moving inside
  • Collins explodes off the line with a quick first step, with agile feet to counter inside and closing burst to finish plays.
  • His motor is excellent, and he’s quick to locate the ball and make plays against the run.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Collins is on the short side, and Collins too often relies on his ability to overpower blockers rather than developing a repertoire of pass-rush moves.
  • While he has violent hands, he uses them too inconsistently. He tends to let blockers get into his chest, and he’ll waste time hand fighting due to a limited array of pass rush moves.
  • Collins lacks elite traits in the pass rush and will need to develop a counter move.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
