Scouting Report: Strengths
- He’s patient in the backfield, willing to wait out his blocking and not panicking, and Henderson consistently spots cutback lanes and takes advantage.
- Flashes initial burst and good lateral quickness to sidestep defenders or bounce runs outside with very good foot quickness. Displays very good feel as an inside and outside runner with above average vision to make sharp cuts - good patience· and footwork to pick through defenses.
- His passing game skills are strong. He’s a natural hands catcher who turns upfield quickly in the screen game, and he shows a great feel for setting up wheel routes.
- Henderson has the straight-line speed to outrun angles, and his flexibility allows him to turn the corner on the perimeter and stay near top speed as he does; he’s especially effective on fly sweeps.
- He has very good vision and a knack for picking out cut-back lanes and then breaking off chunks of yardage.
- While not the most physical runner, he consistently falls forward in a crowd. His low pad level and a bit of wiggle keep him from absorbing big hits.
- He keeps his pads low and consistently falls forward. Unlike most backs his size, he has the lateral movement and stop-start ability to make defenders whiff. Henderson has breakaway speed in the open field.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Offers little in pass protection and poor technique cut blocking, fails to do more than slow down blitzers by laying down in front of them.
- Henderson really isn’t a guy who will create a lot of separation.
- Needs to improve as a blocker and enhance his physicality after the catch
