Scouting Report: Strengths
- Quick feet with good vision to pick through defenses. Cooley has solid hands and body control and is a reliable receiver.
- Does not possess top breakaway speed, though he's rarely caught from behind.
- Flashes initial burst and good lateral quickness to sidestep defenders or bounce runs outside with very good foot quickness. Displays very good feel as an inside and outside runner with above average vision to make sharp cuts - good patience· and footwork to pick through defenses.
- Possesses quick feet and straight-line speed but doesn't have the elite burst to be a constant big-play threat. Improving patience as a runner, following pulling guards and makes good decisions on his cut.
- He’s patient in the backfield, willing to wait out his blocking and not panicking, and Cooley consistently spots cutback lanes and takes advantage.
- Cooley has the straight-line speed to outrun angles, and his flexibility allows him to turn the corner on the perimeter and stay near top speed as he does; he’s especially effective on fly sweeps.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Offers little in pass protection and poor technique cut blocking, fails to do more than slow down blitzers by laying down in front of them.
- He’s not going to threaten to take the top off of a defense.
- His speed is decent, but he’s not a home run hitter at the next level.

The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
