Zeke Berry starred at De La Salle High in Concord, California, and arrived at Michigan in 2022 as a four-star recruit, rated by Rivals as the No. 24 cornerback in the class and the No. 15 player in the state, with offers from Oregon, Tennessee, Arizona and Utah.After working his way up the depth chart, Berry opened 2024 at nickel before moving to outside corner in Week 10 and playing his best football down the stretch. As a full-time starter in 2025, he lined up both outside and in the slot in Wink Martindale's defense, starting 11 games and posting 33 tackles, 11 pass breakups and an interception. He earned All-Big Ten recognition, second team from the media and third team from the coaches, then returned to Michigan for a final season in 2026. He measures 5-foot-11 and 188 pounds.

A versatile perimeter and nickel cornerback at Michigan, Berry made his living in coverage in Wink Martindale's scheme, where his ball skills are the calling card. He broke up 11 passes and added an interception in 2025, mirroring receivers in man and playing the catch point aggressively to force incompletions, and he did it on a Big Ten schedule stacked with Power Four talent.However, the run-game tape is the concern. He is a poor, inconsistent tackler who missed nine attempts and offers little as a run defender, and his slight frame gets stacked by blockers on the edge. His long speed is only adequate, so faster receivers ran him off the top, and his two roughest afternoons came against the best offenses he saw, Ohio State and Texas.
Overall, Berry projects as a rotational outside or nickel corner and sub-package cover man whose ball production and man-coverage feel are the draw, with a bigger role tied to becoming a willing, reliable tackler and holding up when quarterbacks target him against physical route runners. He fits a defense that plays man and press and can shield him from run-support duty early while his technique develops.
