Draft Profile: Bio
The son of longtime NFL center Dominic Raiola and one of the most hyped quarterback recruits in recent memory, Raiola flipped a high-profile commitment to sign with Nebraska, then started all thirteen games as a true freshman in 2024, setting Cornhusker freshman records with 2,819 passing yards and a 67 percent completion rate.

As a sophomore in 2025 he threw eighteen touchdowns and had Nebraska at 6-3 as a starter before a broken fibula ended his season. He made an unusual move in January 2026, transferring to Oregon and willingly accepting a backup role behind projected top-five pick Dante Moore to develop for a year and take over in 2027.

His timeline accelerated when a late targeting hit forced Moore from the September 26 game at USC and drew an ejection. Raiola entered cold and led a comeback, going 19 of 25 for 289 yards and two touchdowns and guiding six scoring drives in a 41-27 upset of No. 12 USC that kept No. 20 Oregon's Playoff hopes alive. With Moore still out, Raiola made his first Oregon start against UCLA on October 10, going 6 of 19 for 43 yards with two interceptions before he was benched in the fourth quarter for walk-on Brock Thomas in a 17-15 loss. Dan Lanning then opened the job for the Nebraska game.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Prototype size, arm talent and a quick, clean release from a heralded pedigree
  • Set Nebraska freshman records with 2,819 yards and 67 percent passing in 2024
  • Threw eighteen touchdowns in nine games before a 2025 broken fibula
  • Poised stepping in cold at USC, 19 of 25 for 289 yards and two scores
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Transferred to be Dante Moore's successor, then was benched in his first Oregon start
  • Decision-making and ball-security lapses surfaced across his Nebraska starts
  • Durability is a question after a season-ending broken fibula in 2025
  • Footwork and pocket poise under pressure still need refinement
  • UCLA held him to 6 of 19 for 43 yards with two interceptions
Scouting Report: Summary
Raiola offers a rare blend of pedigree, prototype size and arm talent, with two seasons of Power-conference starting experience and freshman records to his name, and his poised relief work in the USC upset showed what the arm can do in rhythm. However, the Nebraska tape carried real decision-making and consistency questions, a 2025 broken fibula raised a durability flag, and the move to Oregon was meant to answer all of it. He transferred to be Dante Moore's successor, and when Moore's concussion handed him the job against UCLA, he went 6 of 19 for 43 yards with two interceptions and was benched in the fourth quarter for a walk-on, one of the worst quarterback performances in the country that weekend. For a player who changed schools to win that job, it is a major setback, and Dan Lanning has since opened the competition rather than handing him the next start.

Overall, Raiola still has the pedigree, size and arm that made him a coveted recruit, but the tape has gone backwards, and he now has to win back trust at Oregon or find a path elsewhere. He projects as a seventh-round or priority free-agent developmental quarterback, with the ceiling of a backup if the traits finally translate, and another year of college football is the likeliest path.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
