Jacob Monk from Corinth Holders High School was rated a 3-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports. Following high school, Monk opted to join Duke.In 2019 as a freshman Monk saw action in 12 games and played a total of 759 snaps for the Blue Devils. He allowed 10 QB hurries, 3 QB hits, and 7 sacks while playing at right tackle.
As a sophomore in 2020 he played in 11 games and a total of 817 snaps. He conceded 6 QB hurries, 5 QB hits, and 2 sacks while playing at right guard.
In 2021 as a junior Monk saw action in 12 games and totaled 753 snaps. He gave up 7 QB hurries, no QB hits, and 2 sacks while playing at right guard.

Scouting Report: Strengths
- Understands angles and plays with good leverage. Monk has long arms and heavy hands, using them effectively in pass protection, and Monk has a strong enough initial punch to get an edge on quick sets.
- Attacks his man, playing with a wide base and the lateral agility to mirror, sustain and shuffle to help inside. Has the size, strength and quick feet to be effective as a position run-blocker.
- Solid positional run blocker who flashes the nasty demeanor and killer instinct scouts covet.
- When his hand placement is right, he has the strong grip that allows him to manhandle opponents. Monk plays with a mean streak and keeps the nastiness going through the whistle.
- Cerebral player, quick to react to twists and stunts up front, and he shows an excellent understanding of angles when moving out as a run blocker.
- Does a nice job on the second level, moving upfield quickly and showing the flexibility and balance to land blocks in space.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Can struggle to stay engaged, especially on the second level. His hand placement can be sloppy, costing him power.
- Attacks when necessary, though Monk won't consistently dominate and can lose balance overextending.
- Loses stamina and often fails to finish blocks on the second level
