Chambliss began his career at Division II Ferris State before transferring to Ole Miss in 2025, where he arrived as a backup.He took over when the starter went down and never let go, throwing for 3,934 yards and 22 touchdowns against just three interceptions to finish third nationally in passing, then earning offensive MVP of a Sugar Bowl upset of Georgia on a 362-yard, two-touchdown night.
A sixth-year senior who won a court fight with the NCAA for one more season, Chambliss returned to Ole Miss for 2026 under a new staff following Lane Kiffin's departure. He opened with 336 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Louisville and kept the efficiency high early, with seven touchdowns against two interceptions through the first month.

However, he is light at around 200 pounds and refuses to slide, a real durability bet, the arm strength is only average, testing the outside comebacks and deep outs that need pure velocity, and he still bails clean reads early at times.Overall, Chambliss is an aggressive, creative playmaker whose athleticism and decision-making are the foundation, but the pocket processing has to catch up to the legs, and a strong, efficient start to 2026 without Kiffin has answered part of that test. He projects as a developmental starter, with the ceiling of a low-end starter and the floor of a backup.
