Draft Profile: Bio
A speedy slot out of Judson in the San Antonio area, Evans caught 111 passes for 1,641 yards and thirteen scores in high school and signed with Georgia as a four-star and a top-200 national recruit. He spent two seasons with the Bulldogs before transferring to Mississippi State for a featured role.In 2025 Evans led the Bulldogs with 67 receptions for 821 yards and four touchdowns across thirteen games, adding 365 yards after the catch as a quick, separation-creating target. The rare timed speed that made him a coveted recruit translated to volume production in the SEC, a slot weapon whose burst and route quickness stress defenses underneath and over the top. The 67-catch, 821-yard season led Mississippi State, and the rare speed that drew offers from coast to coast makes him a vertical and underneath threat over a full SEC season.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Rare timed speed that stresses defenses underneath and over the top
- Led Mississippi State with 821 yards and 67 catches in 2025
- Weaponized catch-and-run, added 365 yards after the catch
- Eleven-catch afternoon against Florida and 108 on Arizona
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Slight 180-pound frame gets muscled by bigger defenders
- Modest contested producer, wins on separation not strength
- Nearly a pure slot with a narrow route tree
- Wins on speed more than route craft or physicality
- Two fumbles and five drops leave ball-handling to clean up
Scouting Report: Summary
Anthony Evans III is a burner whose game is built on speed. A former Georgia recruit who found a featured role at Mississippi State, he led the Bulldogs with 67 catches for 821 yards, turning short throws into 365 yards after the catch with rare timed speed that stresses a defense at every level. His 11-catch game against Florida and 108-yard day on Arizona showed the volume he can carry as a movement slot. The concerns fit the archetype. At 180 pounds he gets muscled by bigger defenders, his contested production is modest, and his route tree is narrow, so he wins on speed more than craft or physicality. Two fumbles and five drops also leave ball-handling to clean up before a team fully trusts him.
He fits a spread offense that motions him and schemes him clean touches, letting the speed manufacture yards. Overall, the timed speed is a genuine NFL trait and the 2025 volume is encouraging, but Evans projects as a developmental slot and potential return man whose draft case rests on the speed translating and the route tree and hands growing around it. Return duties give him a realistic path onto a roster while the rest of the game develops, and the pure speed alone will keep him in camp conversations.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
