Damari Brown made 43 tackles, 15 pass breakups and two interceptions during his final season at American Heritage in Plantation, Florida. ESPN ranked him No. 112 nationally, and he chose Miami over Alabama. His father, Selwyn, was a cornerback on a Miami national championship team, and his brother, Davonte, also played for the Hurricanes after starting at UCF.Brown started four of 10 games during his 2023 debut season, including his first start at Florida State and the Pinstripe Bowl. An injury in the 2024 opener against Florida limited him to two games. In 2025 he made five starts in 12 games and earned honorable mention All-ACC.
Brown has been part of Miami's cornerback rotation in 2026, playing 143 snaps. He logged 55 snaps in the opener at Stanford and made two tackles at Wake Forest. Opponents have caught seven of 13 passes thrown at him.
