Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Bowman shows creativity and escapability in space, with good speed once he’s in the open field.
  • He does a nice job with recognition as a pass protector and gives good effort.
  • He’s patient, letting blocks develop then accelerating. He runs with a good forward lean and consistently falls forward.
  • He shows good vision and good explosion upfield once Bowman plants his foot. He has lateral movement skills and enough speed to threaten big plays. He’s excellent in the passing game, capable of flexing out as a receiver and creating mismatches against linebackers, and he’s a solid back in the screen game.
  • He has the straight-line speed to outrun angles, and his flexibility allows him to turn the corner on the perimeter and stay near top speed as he does; he’s especially effective on fly sweeps.
  • Bowman might be able to contribute as a runner with some consistency if used on outside zone runs, but he is more likely a complementary back who, if used properly
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • He’ll be coming to the NFL from a wide-open spread offense in which Bowman ran a limited route tree.
  • The lack of power shows up in pass protection, where he struggles to anchor when picking up blitzers.
  • The lack of size is an obvious problem, and he will have to prove his worth on special teams
