Dylan Fairchild from West Forsyth High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports. Following high school, Fairchild opted to join Georgia.In 2021 as a freshman Fairchild saw action in just one game and played a total of 6 snaps for the Bulldogs. He allowed no QB hurries, no QB hits, and no sacks while playing sparingly.
As a sophomore in 2022 he played in 5 games and a total of 14 snaps. He conceded no QB hurries, no QB hits, and no sacks while playing sparingly.
In 2023 as a junior Fairchild saw action in 13 games and totaled 498 snaps. He gave up just 2 QB hurries, no QB hits, and no sacks while playing the majority of his snaps at left guard, and the rest at right guard.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Plays with natural leverage and has the strength to anchor against the bull rush. Fairchild also packs a violent initial punch that can stand up pass rushers.
- Outstanding on reach blocks, showing good initial quickness and flexibility to seal the backside. He’s a heady player who is quick to recognize and react to twists and stunts up front, and Fairchild shows a good sense of timing on combo blocks.
- Does a nice job on the second level, moving upfield quickly and showing the flexibility and balance to land blocks in space.
- Understands angles and plays with good leverage. He has long arms and heavy hands, using them effectively in pass protection, and he has a strong enough initial punch to get an edge on quick sets.
