Draft Profile: Bio
Penn State signed Washington out of Venice High School in Florida, where the consensus four-star prospect played defensive back and ran track. He appeared in eight games as a true freshman in 2023, making five tackles in reserve duty.In 2024 he played all 14 games with one start for a Penn State team that reached the College Football Playoff semifinals, totaling 26 tackles and six pass breakups and recording his first career interception against West Virginia in the season opener.
The 2025 season produced 18 tackles, three pass breakups and an interception, which came against Villanova, across 12 appearances, and Washington also scored on a 35-yard return of a blocked field goal at Iowa. He posted five tackles, four of them solo, in the road win at UCLA and broke up passes against Northwestern, Iowa and Michigan State. In December he entered the transfer portal and committed to Clemson for 2026 with one year of eligibility left.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Rare timed speed, among the fastest corners in this class
- Snared an interception and returned a blocked kick for a score
- Quick-twitch movement to drive on throws and close windows
- Sure tackler for a corner, missing only two on the year
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Played a rotation role on only 256 snaps
- Surrendered 231 yards on a limited number of targets
- His leaves throws on the field in coverage, with man technique that needs work
- Gives up big plays when his eyes drift in zone
- Splash production is light for the athletic tools
Scouting Report: Summary
Washington is a burner, a corner with rare timed speed and quick-twitch movement who drives on throws and added a blocked-kick return for a score along with an interception. He tackles reliably for the position with only two misses, and the closing speed is a rare, projectable trait. The athleticism and the special-teams splash give him a developmental foundation and a clear path to a roster as a gunner. The cover detail and the sample are the holdups. He played a rotation role on only 256 snaps, surrendered 231 yards on a limited number of targets, and his gives up his share in coverage with man technique that needs work. He gives up big plays when his eyes drift in zone, and his ball production is light for the athletic tools. He is a speed-and-flashes corner whose technique has to catch up to the wheels.
The hook is the rare speed and the special-teams value, a developmental cover corner now headed to a new program for a larger role. The rotation snaps, the modest coverage, and the big plays allowed keep the grade low, but the athleticism is worth a late look. He grades on Day 3 to priority-free-agent as a trait-based corner and core special-teamer, with the cover technique the key to a larger role.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
