Draft Profile: Bio
Eugene Wilson III arrived at Florida as a five-star recruit out of Tampa's Gaither High School, ranked the No. 32 player and a top-five receiver in the 2023 class, and the son of a two-time Super Bowl champion. He caught 40 passes for 764 yards and 11 touchdowns as a senior while adding five interceptions on defense.

He made an immediate impact in Gainesville, earning Freshman All-SEC honors in 2023 with a team-leading six touchdown catches, 61 receptions and 538 yards, including an 85-yard score against Samford. His 2024 sophomore season was cut short by injury, limiting him to 191 yards and a touchdown in two games.

Injuries again shortened his 2025, holding him to eight games and 27 catches for 242 yards and three scores, though he saved his best for the biggest stage with nine receptions for 121 yards and a touchdown against Georgia. In January 2026 he entered the transfer portal and committed to LSU, joining Lane Kiffin's rebuilt receiver room for his final college season.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Former five-star with dynamic slot quickness and plus speed
  • Saved his best for Georgia, nine catches and 121 yards with a score
  • Sudden releases and lateral agility to uncover inside
  • Freshman All-SEC pedigree with a proven ceiling when healthy
  • Dangerous with the ball on manufactured touches and quick game
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Extensive injury history, missed significant time in 2024 and 2025
  • Production cratered outside the Georgia game, just 242 yards
  • Slight frame that durability questions continue to follow
  • Needs to string together a healthy, full season
  • Has not carried a real target volume since his freshman year
Scouting Report: Summary
Eugene Wilson III is a talent evaluation wrapped in a health evaluation. A former five-star and Freshman All-SEC pick who once led Florida with six touchdown catches, he has the slot quickness and plus speed of a starter, and his nine-catch, 121-yard, one-score afternoon against Georgia in 2025 was a reminder of the ceiling. When he is right, he uncovers inside in a hurry and creates with the ball in his hands.

The problem is that he has rarely been right. Injuries cost him most of 2024 and much of 2025, and outside the Georgia game his production cratered to almost nothing, leaving just 242 yards on the season. His slight frame keeps the durability questions alive, and he has not carried real volume since his freshman year, so a team is betting on pedigree and flashes over recent output.

He fits a spread offense that schemes him touches and lets his quickness work, and the move to LSU gives him a fresh start in a loaded room. Overall, the talent is a clear starter's when available, but Wilson projects as a boom-or-bust slot whose draft case hinges entirely on health. A team that trusts the medicals is getting a former five-star with starter traits at a discount, which is exactly the kind of upside swing the middle of Day 3 is built for.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
