Draft Profile: Bio
Griffin Wilde was a multi-sport standout at Thomas Jefferson High School in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, catching 100 passes for 1,858 yards and 22 touchdowns over his last two seasons while also helping the basketball team reach the state semifinals. He started as a true freshman at South Dakota State in 2023, then became the Jackrabbits' top receiver in 2024 with 71 catches for 1,147 yards and 12 touchdowns. Wilde transferred to Northwestern in January 2025 and made third-team All-Big Ten, catching seven passes for 94 yards and a touchdown in an upset win over Penn State and earning MVP honors in the GameAbove Sports Bowl.
Wilde entered 2026 on the Biletnikoff Award watch list. Over his first eight games he has 44 catches for 761 yards and five touchdowns, including nine catches for 133 yards and a touchdown against Rutgers and five catches for 146 yards and a score at Oregon.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Tracks the deep ball well and has caught 10 of 12 deep targets this season
- High-points the ball in traffic and wins contested catches downfield
- Willing, effective blocker whose coaches praise his effort away from the ball
- Five catches for 146 yards at Oregon showed he can stretch a strong secondary
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Adds little after the catch, with five avoided tackles on 44 receptions
- Short-area quickness is limited, making it hard to separate on underneath routes
- Dropped six passes in 2025 and two more at Oregon, so the hands question lingers
- Only average burst out of breaks against tight press coverage
- Production outside the vertical game has been inconsistent from week to week
Scouting Report: Summary
Wilde is a vertical outside receiver who does his best work down the field. He tracks the ball well, attacks it at its highest point and has turned 10 of his 12 deep targets into catches this season, highlighted by his 146-yard day at Oregon. His blocking effort also stands out for a receiver. However, his hands are not as reliable as his catch radius suggests, with two drops at Oregon and six in 2025. He lacks the quickness to separate on shorter routes, and press corners can slow his release.
Overall, Wilde is a productive, physical deep threat who has proven himself at the FCS and Big Ten levels. He projects as a seventh-round outside receiver whose special teams effort and blocking will be key to making a roster.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
