Draft Profile: Bio
Hauss Hejny won two state titles at Aledo High School near Fort Worth and was named the 2023 Fort Worth-area offensive player of the year after throwing for 2,773 yards, running for 1,041 and accounting for 40 touchdowns as a senior. His father, Jesse, was a defensive lineman at TCU, and his mother, JimAnne, played basketball and ran track there.Hejny flipped from Duke to TCU and appeared four times in 2024, running 15 times for 65 yards without attempting a pass. He transferred to Oklahoma State and started the 2025 opener against UT Martin, throwing and running for a touchdown, but he broke his foot in the first quarter and missed the rest of the season after surgery.
Hejny moved to Colorado State in January 2026 and won the starting job. He threw five touchdown passes against Wyoming and four against Southern Utah, then hurt his hamstring against BYU and missed several games. In his return he threw for 333 yards and three touchdowns and ran for two more in a 56-49 win over San Diego State.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Elite speed for a quarterback, among the fastest testers in the class
- Threw for 333 yards and ran for two scores against San Diego State
- Five touchdown passes against Wyoming in his Colorado State debut
- Has 14 touchdown passes against two interceptions in five games
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Broke his foot in the 2025 opener and needed surgery
- A hamstring injury against BYU cost him several games
- Utah State held him to 186 yards in his most recent start
- Very light frame for a quarterback who runs this often
- Started only six college games across three programs
Scouting Report: Summary
Hejny is a dynamic dual-threat quarterback who has been productive when healthy at Colorado State. He is unusually fast for a quarterback, throws an accurate ball and makes plays with his legs, as his 333 yards passing and two rushing touchdowns against San Diego State showed. However, he has struggled to stay healthy, breaking his foot in 2025 and missing games this year with a hamstring injury. His slight frame is a concern, and he has started only six college games.
Overall, Hejny has the tools teams want in a modern quarterback but very little experience. He projects as a priority free agent and is expected to have two more seasons to play in college.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
