Draft Profile: Bio
Keyjuan Brown from South Atlanta High School was rated a 3-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 3-star grade by 247 Sports. Following high school, Brown joined Louisville.In 2023 as a freshman Brown saw action in just one game for the Cardinals as he ran for only 65 yards on 11 attempts for an impressive 5.9 yards per carry, with one TD, with no fumbles. As a receiver he made no receptions for no yards.
As a sophomore in 2024 he played just 3 games. and rushed for only 126 yards on 19 carries for an elite 6.6 ypc, with 2 TDs, with no fumbles. In the passing game he pulled in only 3 receptions for 34 yards.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Does not possess top breakaway speed, though he's rarely caught from behind.
- Brown brings a nice blend of power and passing game skills. He has a compact build and a naturally low center of gravity, and Brown runs with excellent balance through traffic, allowing him to squeeze through for yardage.
- Brown has a low center of gravity and runs with a nice forward lean. He’s decisive with good vision and shows nice balance when running in traffic and the body control to bounce and spin off of bodies.
- His passing game skills are strong. He’s a natural hands catcher who turns upfield quickly in the screen game, and he shows a great feel for setting up wheel routes.
- He’s on the small side but solidly built, thick through the lower body. He’s light on his feet with good vision, and he shows creativity as a runner, finding cut-back lanes.
- He’s solid in blitz pickup, and he consistently showed the ability to anchor against bigger players.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Too indecisive and hesitant at the line of scrimmage.
- Goes down too easily upon contact and needs to do a better job staying on his feet and anticipating hits. Needs to be more of a finisher and run with more purpose and determination.
- He’s not physically imposing. Brown is small-framed and won’t be able to carry much more weight.
