A four-star out of powerhouse Our Lady of Good Counsel in Maryland, Altuner played tackle in high school before moving inside, following offensive line coach Matt Moore from West Virginia to Virginia Tech. He stepped into the Hokies' starting center job and anchored a productive ground game.In 2025 Altuner started all twelve games at center, taking 414 pass-blocking snaps and 379 in the run game while allowing just one sack and fifteen pressures, helping Virginia Tech rank third in the ACC in rushing at better than 180 yards a game. With four years of eligibility remaining, the four-star interior blocker brings position flexibility and a full season of starting reps to the Hokie front. The four-star pedigree and the flexibility from tackle to center make him a versatile interior piece, and the No. 3 rushing offense he anchored speaks to his run-game value with four years still to play.
