Nyck Harbor signed with South Carolina as a five-star recruit out of Archbishop Carroll in Washington, D.C., a sprinter so fast he twice topped Bruce Feldman's annual college football Freaks list. The son of a former U.S. men's national soccer team member, he ran track for the Gamecocks before skipping the 2025 track season to participate in spring football for the first time.Receiving production rose steadily in Columbia, from 12 catches as a freshman in 2023 to 26 receptions for 376 yards and three touchdowns during his 2024 sophomore season.
Everything jumped in 2025: 30 receptions for 618 yards and six touchdowns across 11 games, leading South Carolina in receiving yards, yards per catch, and touchdown catches. Harbor scored in each of the last five games he played, went for 102 yards and a touchdown at Texas A&M, and finished with season highs of six catches for 115 yards plus a score against Clemson. In December he announced a return to South Carolina for a final 2026 season.

A two-time Freaks list honoree who ran track for South Carolina, he broke out in 2025 with 618 yards and six touchdowns in 11 games, including a 115-yard, one-score afternoon against Clemson and a 102-yard game at Texas A&M that showed the ceiling on a big stage.The tape is a work in progress, and that is the honest read. He caught just 30 balls on 52 targets, his hands waver at the catch point, and his route running is raw after a career split between football and the track. He wins on physical tools right now more than craft, and the volume has to grow before the production matches the traits. Receivers this size simply do not move the way he does, so the ceiling is worth the patience, provided a staff gives him a defined vertical role and time to learn the position.
He belongs in a vertical offense that isolates him outside and lets his size and speed do the work while the route detail develops. Overall, Harbor is a developmental prospect with a ceiling few in the class can match, the kind of size-speed bet worth making early on Day 3 with patience built into the plan.
