Scouting Report: Strengths
- He’s a coordinated athlete who can win at the point of attack in the run game, and Truss can also move to consistently land blocks at the second level.
- Plays with appropriate wide base and intelligence, instincts and agility to seal the edge. Aggressive extending with power to punch and looks comfortable in space.
- Has the functional strength to hold up against the bull rush, and he shows exceptionally quick and precise hands.
- Strong upper body, arms and hands. Coordinated feet with the flexibility for offensive tackle. Hard worker.
- Truss is a work in progress with high-end physical traits. He’s extremely light on his feet for a 300-pounder, a natural knee bender who plays with balance and leverage.
- Big athlete with good bulk and a filled-out frame. Stays balanced and doesn't overextend in pass protection. Stays disciplined with good bend and leverage.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Heavy-footed with limited lateral quickness. Stiff and looks like he's moving in wet cement in the open field.
- Truss doesn’t have good enough feet to play left tackle at the next level, and his body type would make for a difficult switch to a guard spot.
- Raw as a pass protector, looking choppy and unnatural when moving back into his set, often playing too upright.
