As a sophomore in 2021, he played 14 games and had a solid 30 catches for 520 yards for an average of 17.3 yards per catch, with 5 TDs, and an elite QB rating when targeted of 133.6.

As a junior in 2022 he played 11 games and hauled in 55 catches for 904 yards for an average of 16.4 yards per catch, with 9 TDs, and an outstanding QB rating when targeted of 116.9.
Honors & awards
  • 2022 All-AAC Second Team
  • 2022 Ranked 19th in the nation for receiving touchdowns
  • High School - Earned 2019 Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association Division III All-Ohio special mention accolades and OPSWA First-Team All-Northeast Inland District after rushing for 1,337 yards and 21 scores as a senior
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Super fast and twitchy player who is a long strider and has a ridiculous to take the top off the defense
  • Tracks the ball well downfield and shows good ball skills, including the ability to go up and high-point it in contested-catch situations.
  • He’s a former running back and as a result a catch-and-run threat, a creative runner who has good vision in the open field; he’ll be an option to return kicks as well.
  • Despite his only average size was still considered strong and athletic enough to play on the outside. Lined up 96% of his college career on the outside
  • Made Bruce Feldman's Freak's List - ranked #53. He wrote, "At 5-9 1/2, 185 pounds, he clocked a 4.29 40 to go with a 40 1/2-inch vertical jump and did 11 feet on the broad jump. In addition, Scott squatted 600 pounds and did 16 reps at 225 pounds on the bench press and maxed out at 345."
  • Provides an excellent option on jet sweeps and end-arounds as well as WR screens
  • When used downfield, Scott shows the ball-tracking skills and hand-eye coordination to make the adjustment on underthrown balls and back-shoulder throws.
  • Scott shows suddenness off the line of scrimmage and accelerates quickly, and his top-end speed is among the best in this draft.
  • Scott has reliable hands and shows the willingness to make catches in traffic over the middle.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Has only an average catch radius due to his limited arm length
  • He’s a short boundary receiver, and a non-factor blocking in the run game.
  • NFL defenders may be able to knock him off his route because of his slight frame- will probably viewed as a slot option in the pros
  • Has had more than his fair share of drops - in 2022 had seven
  • Does not always use his hands to secure deep throws, allowing the ball into his pads and chest.
Scouting Report: Summary
Former track star Tyler Scott is an impressive prospect who combines predictably elite speed, with outstanding leaping ability and solid route-running skills and has improved throughout his time at Cincinnati. He however is a little lean and is undersized for an outside receiver (the position he has played exclusively as a Bearcat) standing 5-11 and weighing in at 185lbs meaning that a position change to the slot is likely. Scott has displayed somewhat inconsistent hands - whether these issues are a result of concentration drops or something more innate is undetermined.

Currently we view Scott as representing value as a fourth-round prospect although he could well be over-drafted due to a team falling in love with his elite speed.

Tyler Scott percentiles vs other Wide Receivers (NFL Combine historically - higher value represents better perfomance)

Update - 03/12/2023
At the combine, Scott showed explosive qualities in his broad and vertical jumps. In the gauntlet drill, he kept his route flat across the field and looked really smooth. He however ran a good forty at 4.44, but it wasn't close to being elite and what was billed given his track background.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
