Scouting Report: Strengths
  • His vision is outstanding, and Jones has an innate understanding of when to go and when to sit back and wait for blocks to develop. Jones thrives as a one-cut back
  • He has very good vision and a knack for picking out cut-back lanes and then breaking offchunks of yardage.
  • He has the straight-line speed to outrun angles, and his flexibility allows him to turn the corner on the perimeter and stay near top speed as he does; he’s especially effective on fly sweeps.
  • An instinctive runner, he has a knack for setting up defenders and making people miss in space. He’s at his best in space and on the perimeter, where he shows the balance and acceleration, plus pure speed, to make a move and then take off.
  • Has the feet and feel running between the tackles and in the open field. He has very good vision and patience to pick through defenses.
  • Jones has the flexible ankles to turn the corner and get around the perimeter when the opportunity presents itself.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Jones can sometimes be impatient, not allowing his blocks to set up, a nuance required for backs to last a decade-plus.
  • Does not always show a burst in the box, anticipates contact. Can get I turned easily on draws and inside isolation plays, shuffling and failing to restart momentum. Power in his cuts has been inconsistent. Tripped upon first contact.
  • Not elite in his vision or strength, Jones has enough all-around game to be a three-down player at the next level

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
