Scouting Report: Strengths
- Ball placement is a strength. Johnson has the natural instincts to make plays when forced to improvise.
- Athletic build with plenty of room for another 10-15 pounds of muscle mass. Mobile quarterback who can buy time in the pocket and is a threat to gain yards with his feet.
- Sees the field very well when the play breaks down and occasionally changes plays at the line.
- He has a quick release and shows good accuracy on shorter throws when on the move to either side.
- He’s a pure athlete, loose-limbed and flexible. He has the speed to pick up yardage in scramble situations.
- Johnson must be accounted for when used in the read-option game.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Johnson often holds the ball too long. While Johnson keeps his eyes up while moving, his mechanics get increasingly sloppy once he’s pushed off his spot.
- His arm strength is decent but less than ideal; he lacks a little zip, and accuracy becomes an issue when he’s unable or unwilling to set his feet.
- His mechanics are hit-or-miss as he struggles to remain consistent. His stride is inconsistent, leading to sporadic accuracy.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
