Scouting Report: Strengths
- Fires out of his stance with a good pad level, consistently winning at the point of attack.
- Consistently lands blocks at the second level, and Cohen finishes strong. As a pass protector, he has violent, heavy hands. Along with a strong initial punch, he has the hand strength to grip and redirect pass rushers.
- He’s very good in the phone booth, firing off the line and playing with good leverage early in the down.
- In the run game, he plays with a mean streak and does a nice job generating a push at the initial point of attack. Cohen can get outside and does a decent job landing blocks in space.
- Has a strong, flexible core, and the ability to absorb and anchor against the bull rush as a pass protector.
- Anchors against larger defenders in the middle; resets hands to maintain distance. Athletic enough to help on nose tackle then pick up twist or late blitzer. Mirrors quick interior rushers. Looks to help the center when uncovered.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Is a bit underpowered, often coming off the line of scrimmage too high and struggling to generate movement. Cohen might be no more than a wall-off, angle blocker.
- Loses leverage battles and plays with high pad level. Can be late off the snap.
- He’ll give effort, but doesn’t generate much power at the point of attack. He’s not the type of interior blocker who can re-establish the line of scrimmage, instead relying on angles and technique to win.
