Draft Profile: Bio
Joshua Sales Jr. grew up in South Bend and played at Brownsburg, earning Indiana all-state honors and a spot on the 2020 Indiana All-USA Super Team. He gave up no sacks in his senior season, was rated the fifth-best prospect in the state with three stars and also competed in wrestling, basketball and track.

Sales spent three years at Indiana, redshirting in 2021, starting four times in 2022 and serving as a reserve in 2023. A move to Purdue produced one start in three games in 2024 as he dealt with injuries, and he then left that program.

Austin Peay gave him a fresh start in 2025, and he made 12 starts split between left and right tackle, was a first-team FCS All-American for Stats Perform and was beaten for one sack across roughly 400 pass-blocking snaps. Now a graduate student, he has given up a sack and five pressures over eight games this fall.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Stats Perform named him a first-team FCS All-American for 2025
  • Gave up one sack across roughly 400 pass-blocking snaps in 2025
  • Has started games at left tackle and at right tackle
  • Vanderbilt managed only one hurry when Austin Peay visited Nashville
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Could not hold down a starting job at Indiana or Purdue
  • Tarleton State produced two pressures and drew a flag in October
  • Weighs far less than the typical NFL offensive tackle
  • Most of his best tape has come against FCS defenders
  • Injuries slowed him during his lone season at Purdue
Scouting Report: Summary
Sales is a seasoned, technically sound tackle who turned into an FCS standout at Austin Peay. He protects well, with a single sack allowed in 2025, and he handled himself in a road game at Vanderbilt this season.

However, he never secured a starting role at Indiana or Purdue, and his best work has come below the FBS level. On top of that, he is undersized for an NFL tackle.

Overall, Sales is a polished small-school tackle with real size questions. He projects as a priority free agent who may need to slide inside to guard.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
