Nelson Ceaser from Ridge Point High School was rated a 3-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 3-star grade by 247 Sports. After high school, Ceaser joined Houston.In 2020 as a freshman Ceaser saw action in just one game and played a total of 15 snaps for the Cougars. He recorded no tackles, no assists, while adding no stops.
As a sophomore for the Cougars in 2021 Ceaser played in 12 games and took part in 313 snaps for the Cougars. He recorded 12 tackles, 5 assists, while adding 13 stops. As a pass rusher, he chalked up 23 total pressures, and 17 QB hurries, 2 QB hits, and 4 sacks during the year.

Scouting Report: Strengths
- Ceaser shows good quickness off the line of scrimmage and flashes the violent hands to win around the edge.
- He has an excellent motor and shows the stamina to last deep into the fourth quarter.
- Relentless and strong off the edge as a pass rusher when fresh. Gets under the pads of tackles to bull rush them into the backfield.
- Plays with leverage at the point of attack whether inside or outside. Keeps eyes in the backfield when inside; moves linemen to either side with strong hands.
- Ceaser has the quickness and flexibility to consistently dip and bend around the edge.
- Flashes strength at the point of attack with active, violent hand use. Forceful with his upper body to defeat blocks. Strong hustle player.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Ceaser plays with poor anchor strength and too often fails to set the edge against bigger linemen.
- He lacks a physical element to his game. He’ll have a tough time setting the edge in the run game, and Ceaser struggles to disengage once blockers get into his chest.
- Ceaser has to develop a counter move or two in the pass rush, and he needs to make better use of his hands.
