Scouting Report: Strengths
- Keeps feet moving after initial contact. Jumps inside as a counter to typical rush, but needs to show a larger variety of moves.
- Flashes closing speed and agility to reach passers from the blind side or up the middle before they can escape.
- Best attribute. Extreme quickness off the edge, has the flexibility to turn the corner.
- Davis can move laterally and chase in pursuit. A tough, violent tackler with a non-stop motor, Davis also shows good awareness when dropping into coverage.
- Davis has an excellent feel for working off blockers and knowing how and when to counter as the play goes on.
- Greet feel in coverage. Often arrives at the receiver at the same time as the ball, giving up few yards after the catch. Possesses straight-line speed to stay with or chase down receivers in man.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- He’s going to have to add weight, and even then Davis will likely be a liability against the run.
- As good as he is attacking downhill, he can get overaggressive and overrun plays, opening up cutback lanes for counter runs.
- Davis is on the small side and struggles to slip blocks; he’ll need to be covered up in order to make plays.
