Scouting Report: Strengths
  • His long limbs and strong core strength allow him to power through blockers, and Beal has the flexibility to loop inside and get home on twists.
  • Plays with exceptional balance and body control, showing off a nasty spin move to counter his speed, with the natural instincts to know when to use it.
  • Coordinated footwork and balance. Makes more plays in pass coverage than expected because of his natural football instincts.
  • Showed initial quickness and good flexibility to dip and bend. Beal has active hands and suddenness to his movements, demonstrating the ability to counter inside.
  • Beal has violent hands and consistently breaks away and disengages from blockers. He’s instinctive, reading, reacting and locating the ball quickly, and finishing plays as an authoritative, wrap-up tackler.
  • He’s flexible enough to bend the edge, and he’s at his best when he can use his quickness and change-of-direction abilities to counter back inside.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • He’s a little more finesse than power at this point and will have to prove he’s up to the physicality of the NFL.
  • Beal needs to do a better job using his hands as a pass rusher, as Beal too often gets neutralized by longer edge blockers.
  • Beal is a little stiff as an athlete and doesn’t have the twitch of the top linebacker prospects in this draft.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
