Scouting Report: Strengths
  • He’s a sure and violent wrap-up tackler with sideline-to-sideline range. He’s an excellent tackler in space, showing loose hips and the ability to break down and contain runners.
  • He’s a fluid mover in pursuit as well, capable of moving down the line and making plays in pursuit.
  • Along with great instincts, he’s an explosive mover. Simon can disrupt plays in the backfield due to his ability to read and react quickly.
  • Shows a burst to close. Flashes explosive hitting ability and good lateral and downfield pursuit.
  • Simon has violent hands and consistently breaks away and disengages from blockers. He’s instinctive, reading, reacting and locating the ball quickly, and finishing plays as an authoritative, wrap-up tackler.
  • Ferocious against the run and very good in coverage, is extremely versatile. Despite his build, Simon holds up well in traffic and makes a lot of plays by engaging a block, shedding, and pursuing.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Simon lacks the speed of a chase and- tackle guy. Simon lacks twitch as a pass rusher and lacks the feet and flexibility to threaten around the edge.
  • As a pass rusher, Simon needs the scheme to create deception and confusion to give him a free run.
  • He’s more of a grab-and-drag tackler who could stand to be more violent as a hitter.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
